In this ongoing series of works, I explore the fluidity of identity through hand-dyeing and hand-sewing recycled household fabrics such as bedsheets and curtains, combined with acrylic painting. Identity is often understood as something fixed or labelled, yet this perspective can be limiting. In these works, I approach identity as something that shifts and transforms rather than something static or imposed.
Textile is central to this exploration. As an essential part of everyday life, it mirrors identity in its closeness to the body and its constant presence. Identity can be shaped internally or assigned externally, and this tension runs through the work.
These pieces move within a transitional space where human and natural identities intersect and evolve over time, examining the impermanence of form and the continuous transformation of self.
